Home Made Lipstick

I have been literally stretching the last bit of my lipstick and I knew I had all the ingredients to make my own so why not? I have added links to the materials I had on hand because as you can expect I literally buy almost everything from Amazon because it is free and quick shipping.  The directions are super easy and you can make any color you want and any flavor you like.

Supplies needed:

Shea butter 1/2 tsp

essential oil (of your choice) 2 drops

almond oil (or another food grade oil) 1/2 tsp

1 non toxic crayon

A lipstick container

Directions:

Melt crayon after peeling paper in a double boiler or place the crayon in a glass bowl and then place the glass bowl in a saucepan of boiling water.  After the crayon has melted you can then add the remaining ingredients and stir until melted and blended.  I suggest adding the essential oil last. I chose peppermint oil for mine.  I also made a double batch because I wanted to combine two colors of crayons and I know I can always use things like this as a great gift idea.   This was super easy ! I quickly turned off the heat on the pan and then carefully poured the liquid into my lipstick containers.  The liquid hardened fast and looked beautiful.

Here are the links for the items I used.  I didnt' add the link for the crayons or the oil. The oil is Doterra oil and if you are interested in trying that brand you can click on the link in the right hand corner of my main page to go directly to my Doterra site.
