Have you heard of Lens therapy? Its a treatment that has been in the USA for about 30 years. Lens stands for Low Energy Neurofeedback. It is very similar to a test that one would receive at a neurologist office called an EEG. Many of you may have heard of that. Lens therapy is a process that helps the brain restore brain wave balance following a brain or emotional trauma. It is said to help alleviate many post-trauma symptoms and is approved by the FDA.
Until recently I had never heard of this treatment. One day my daughter sent me a video that explained what lens therapy was and how it works. We were both very interested!! I found there wasnt alot of information online about it and no one we knew had ever heard of it.
Shortly afterwards I contacted the office nearby in our town that offers this treatment. We were very fortunate that the video my daughter had sent to me was made by the woman who provides the treatment. She was real life proof that lens therapy worked. She felt so passionate about her treatment that she decided to get certified to provide the treatment on others herself.
One of the first ways she described how to understand Lens therapy is to imagine holding a mirror in front of your naked brain and your brain was able to look at himself for the first time and everything that your brain can see wrong it will now be able to correct itself. What?!? Just think of how we are taught that humans only use 10% of their brain. Now add lens therapy to that party. Could lens therapy be a safer way to treat brain issues? Could it be safer than medication? Could our brain have the ability to fix itself for real. Only one way to find out.
My daughter is like her parents. A nervous Jervous! I remember her always frightened over little things. I remember her telling me she was so worried that the world would end and she was only 4. She was brilliant and often times highly intelligent children have anxiety. To this day she still has anxiety and some depression and as she gets older she feels it gets worse.
I remember always thinking “when she gets older if she still has issues perhaps she can seek treatment of another kind other than counseling. When her brain stops growing “.
I was frightened to think that she may need to be medicated. I recognize that sometimes that is essential. Any mom would feel afraid that their child would need to be on medication for life.
So when we learned about lens therapy we knew we had to try it. There was nothing to loose! My daughter has been going for a while now once a week . I have gone with her to a couple appointments to watch the process. I wanted to see her transformation and access her after each treatment.
I want to share how amazing it has been so far and watching her has encouraged me to seek the treatment for myself.
She didn’t have brain trauma but she did have emotional trauma . She also was diagnosed with generally seizures when she was an infant. She later grew out of them. It was hard to watch her struggle and not feel I could help her. Through her teen years she survived her parents getting a divorce, moving to a new school, making new friends and things were not easy. She stayed strong and watching her from the side lines I seen her in a bad place. It was hard to watch. Now after about two months of treatment I feel like she has transformed into a calmer energy. I can’t feel what she feels but I can see how she responds to things and I can see that her brain is processing information in a way it never has as an adult. I have watched this girl grow very closely through her life. There were parts that were ugly and scary and sad for us and I’m so grateful that she worked through it. I’m proud of her for recognizing she wanted to be better and I’m proud of her for being brave enough to do something new that hardly anyone knows about.
